Mesh laundry bags protect delicate fabrics in the wash. Placing items inside a mesh bag prevents them from getting damaged, especially if you have a mixed laundry load.
Another way to use them is to separate certain articles of clothing from the rest of the laundry. For example, sporting wear that contains Velcro straps could pull threads from delicate garments.
You can also use laundry bags to prevent items from getting misplaced in the washer. For example, keeping socks together or to prevent mixing articles with another person’s clothing.
Finally, mesh bags can be used to carry items that benefit from aeration – such as sporting equipment or gym clothes.

A tailor’s ham or dressmaker’s ham is a tightly stuffed pillow used as a curved mould when pressing curved areas of clothing, such as darts, sleeves, cuffs, collars, or waistlines.
Pressing on a curved form allows a garment better to fit body contours.
It helps prevent seam turnings from showing when pressed.
Single fold bias tape, used for edging on straight edges like cuffs. This binding is not cut on the bias, it is folded like bias but it doesn’t run flat around a curve as bias binding would.
